Kakurega (隠れ家) is a Japanese word that translates to “a hidden retreat” or “a secret sanctuary.” It evokes the feeling of entering a quiet, secluded space where one can relax, recharge, and reconnect. At Omni, Kakurega is more than just a concept—it’s the foundation of our guest experience. Our salon has been reimagined to feel like your own personal escape: private, calming, and deeply restorative. Daniel Jacob Hill
Owner & Hairstylist

A native to Salt Lake City, Utah Daniel's career as a hairstylist began at Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design in the summer of 2008. Specializing in natural highlighting techniques, dimensional hair coloring, gray coverage, and creating haircuts that are cut to style.

Daniel created opportunities to work backstage at New York Fashion Week, Sundance Film Festival, and Ballet West. His love for the theater created a path for him to join Utah Opera and Symphony (2012-2018) as a wig and makeup artist. In 2017 he was offered the opportunity to be the Wig & Make-up designer for Utah Operas productions of The Long Walk (2017), co-designer of Don Giovanni (2017), and La Boheme (2017).

From 2009-2018 Daniel worked for the hair product company, UNITE as an Educator and Regional Artistic Director.

A practitioner of yoga and mindful meditation since the age of 18 Daniel holds a wealth of knowledge on eastern practices like yoga, pranayama, and mindful meditation.

Daniel has traveled the world, visiting India, Europe, Japan, and Singapore where he has explored and educated himself on the knowledge and experiences of hairdressing and eastern philosophies.
